PRESIDENT OF INDONESIAN GEOTHERMAL ASSOCIATION
Indonesia’s large population is forecast to grow, which will translate into increasing in demand for electricity and now energy faces a situation of challenges in deciding a transition that requires a renewable energy to sustainably supply the base load.
Geothermal energy is the answer and will provide the solution of the issue. Indonesia is the world’s second largest geothermal electricity producer. As one of the world’s largest potential resources for geothermal energy, we are honored to host The 8th Indonesia International Geothermal Convention & Exhibition (IIGCE) 2022 in conjunction with The 22nd INAGA’s Annual Scientific Meeting. The event will be held in a hybrid format on 14 – 16 September 2022 at the Jakarta Convention Center, with this year theme “Geothermal: The Sustainable Energy for Green Recovery, Energy Transition and Security”.
As we recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, it is essential that we build back better. Having a green economic recovery agenda will help Indonesia build a resilient and sustainable economy while accelerating the energy transition in Indonesia to achieve the Net Zero Emission target plan in 2060. However, this can be economically challenging, and governments will have to go through great efforts to satisfy the challenges, both economically and environmentally.
INAGA and The 8th IIGCE 2022 committee would like to take this opportunity to invite all the geothermal community to join us and be part of a global gathering to assist and support a significant development in Indonesia’s geothermal energy by sharing the expertise and experiences that will provide a future Indonesia’s sustainable energy supply. This presents a golden opportunity to build a great relationship with worldwide potential business partners and government within the geothermal industry.
Last but not least, I would like to extend a warm welcome and my deepest gratitude to all participants in this event and I sincerely hope this event will be beneficial for all stakeholders and geothermal development can be accelerated accordingly to support the sustainable energy needs of the country.
We look forward to seeing you in The 8th IIGCE 2022.
